The Winnipeg River Burger Trail is about to begin!

If you’ve got a hankerin’ for a good burger, look no further than the Winnipeg River Burger Trail. The August 24 to September 5 event is organized by the Lac du Bonnet & District Chamber of Commerce in partnership with local municipal governments, and community development organizations to promote the restaurants in the Winnipeg River area.
Restaurants from the East Beaches to Whitemouth have come up with some amazing creations, or at least they sound amazing.
Joey Smith, manager of the Papertown Motor Inn in Pine Falls (one of the participating restaurants) said he thinks it could be a good thing for the businesses taking part. “It’s a very cheap way to give people in the region a chance to try out our restaurant.”
And his cooks came up with a doozy! Predictably (since they are located in the Walleye Capital of Manitoba) the Papertown opted for a burger made with the fish that earned the town it’s moniker.

Served on a crisp bun, loaded with tomato, coleslaw, roasted red peppers, jalapenos, potato crisps, pickles with a beautiful piece of deep friend pickerel dusted with cajun. The is topped with potato wedges.
The Western Burger
Le Gouter, Albert Beach
Our delicious Western Burger made with Manitoba’s best. Each burger starts with our special recipe of 5.25oz fresh, lean ground beef, topped with 2 thick cut smoked pieces of bacon from Winnipeg Old Country Sausage, crispy onion rings, a shot of BBQ sauce and thick slice of Bothwell Swiss. We then finish with the works, tomato, romaine lettuce, red onion, ketchup, mayo & Elmans Dill Pickles, served in a Gunns Bakery seeded Brioche bun.
