On October 5, 2020, at approximately 8:45 am, Powerview RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter on Broadlands Road, in the RM of Alexander.
The break-in had occurred sometime overnight and several items, a vehicle and two firearms were stolen.
During the course of the investigation, a male suspect was identified and police began to search for this suspect.
On October 8, 2020, at approximately 3:00 pm, the vehicle believed to be associated to the suspect was located by RCMP officers in Selkirk. A traffic stop was initiated and officers arrested the male without incident. A female passenger was also taken into custody.
The suspect was found to be in possession of a firearm, pellet gun, and a knife. Some of the stolen items were recovered inside his vehicle.
Curtis Duval, 29, of Powerview-Pine Falls, has been charged with;

- Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x6
- Weapons Possession Contrary to Order x6
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Fail to Comply x8
- He was remanded into custody.
A 37-year-old female from Powerview-Pine Falls, is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x5 and Fail to Comply.
Selkirk and Powerview RCMP, continue to investigate.
