The latest release from Manitoba Health announced a new case for the Powerview-Pine Falls region. It’s the third case announced in the last week. The first case of this latest outbreak was first announced by Chief Derrick Henderson on Wolf FM on October 18. Then on October 21, Sagkeeng announced a second case in the community. In response to those two cases, the Sagkeeng Health Centre was closed to investigate a possible exposure there.
This most recent case, doesn’t appear to be part of the Sagkeeng outbreak, as the Band issued a release on October 24 stating that there were currently two active cases in the community, which would account for the cases announced on October 18 and 21. Five sets a new record the most active cases seen in the Powerview-Pine Falls region since the pandemic began. The region has not been Covid-free since mid-September.

It does not include the East Beaches or St. Georges. The Pinawa/Lac du Bonnet Region also includes the entire RM of Alexander as well as the RM and town of Lac du Bonnet and the LGD of Pinawa.
