Randy Bachman took care of business on Saturday, July 20, to the delight of audience members at the Summer Winds Family Music Festival.
Celebrating 13 years, the festival underwent some minor changes this year – with the entertainment limited to the evenings.
Festival Chair, Glenn Halgren said that the attendance was low when they opened in the afternoon. “We’re a beach community and most people are on the beach in the afternoon and didn’t show up until around 7:00,” explained Halgren. “It wasn’t fair for the early performers.”
In addition to Randy Bachman, there were some other top notch musicians entertaining the crowds including a Guns and Roses Tribute called “Rattlesnake Suitcase” and an AC/DC tribute called “Whole Lotta Angus”.
As usual, the festival also included a number of local performers. 14 year old Dana Feakes returned (she has been performing since she was 11 and her confidence continues to grow). Chris Fontaine returned, who amazes the crowd with his Michael Jackson dance moves.
They also had Michael Lauze who accompanied Dana and on Saturday Holly Vee with her daughter, brother and sister in law were on the stage. Her son Jesse Bandura kicked off the festival Friday night.
Attendance numbers for this year were an all time high with a sell out.
