Former CAO for PVPF and Alexander will be bringing her experience to the provincial level
Margie Bonekamp was one of eight new members that the Manitoba government has appointed to the Manitoba Municipal Board. Municipal Relations Minister Jeff Wharton made the announcement on June 5, 2018.
“We are pleased to add these new appointees to the board and look forward to the important contributions they will make,” said Wharton. “These individuals all bring a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience which will ensure the Manitoba Municipal Board can address longstanding challenges and work effectively for Manitobans.”
Bonekamp currently works for Caisse Financial Group as a member service representative. She is also the secretary-treasurer for the Pine Falls District Health Care Foundation. She previously worked as CAO for the Town of Powerview-Pine Falls and the RM of Alexander. She has also served as district director, vice-president, president and past-president for the Manitoba Municipal Administrators Association. Her volunteer experience includes the local church, 4P Festival and CIBC Run for the Cure.
The Manitoba Municipal Board is a quasi-judicial tribunal established under The Municipal Board Act. The act sets out the general provisions respecting the board’s operations. Other provincial statutes, such as The Municipal Act, The Municipal Assessment Act and The Planning Act, also give the board jurisdiction to make decisions or recommendations about various matters.
