On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28 and 29, Sagkeeng sent demolition crews to the two residences that had been identified as drug houses. On Tuesday, they took down the house on Tipi Road and on Wednesday, they took down the house on Morisseau Road.
Chemical residue consistent with the manufacturing process of methamphetamine were found at the residences. On May 16, eviction notices were issued to the occupants of each residence.
A couple from one house moved to Winnipeg and the occupants of the other remain in Sagkeeng. Sagkeeng leaders have reached out and offered rehab services to them.
