Last week’s storm didn’t seem to have a big impact on turnout for the 2019 Voyageurs Walleye Classic in Pine Falls over the weekend. The organizers sent out a message on their Facebook page warning participants of the road conditions and asking that they be kept in the loop if participants were having trouble making it. But the road conditions improved enough so that the turnout was good. The weather was a bit wintery, but anglers are a hearty bunch.
This year’s winning boat was Dave Randash and Ted Takaski who took home the big prize of $4500, along with a boat, motor and trailer.
Second place ($3000) was won by Al Mc Vicar and Devan McDougal; Third place ($2800) Jon O’Connor and Bryan Sharpe; 4th place ($2000) was won by Kent Christianson and Lindsay Weis (they also won $500 for Top Mixed Team); 5th ($1900) Elias Bakopoulos and Christina Bamberg; 6th ($1500) Bill Spence and Mat Makela; 7th ($1250) René Dubé and Ray Fawcett; 8th ($1100) Ryan Donat and Jay Williams; 9th ($1090) Glen Boehme and Doug Cramer; 10th ($1040) Mike Davey and Josh Haisel.
