Manitoba’s largest and longest running country music festival will be graced by two different bands fronted by former Pine Falls residents. Brent Alarie’s Wreckin’ So and Ryan Cyr’s Black River Drifters are both playing the festival’s alternate stage on Thursday and Friday night respectively.

Wreckin’ So got on the Countryfest bill last year as a result of winning a battle of the bands the year before, but this is the first time for Black River Drifters.

Local audiences have had a number of opportunities to see these two bands, both have played at the Fire & Water Festival in Lac du Bonnet as well as local events in Pine Falls at the Curling Club, the Legion and the Papertown.

But if you’re going to be at Countryfest this year, be sure to stop in to see these two local products at the festival’s Credit Union Corral Stage. Wreckin’ So performs Thursday at 9:30 (just before Streetheart closes out the night) and the boys in Black River Drifters open the night on Friday at 6:00 PM.
